Westman Dressage Young Rider Scholarship

Are you a young rider with goals and aspirations for you and your equine partner?

When you close your eyes can you see yourself in the ring riding the perfect half-pass to a passage—piaffe tour? Or maybe your heart is set on the Grand Prix Jumping ring, or eventing at Willville. Need a little help to get you started on your journey?

Westman Dressage wants to help two young riders 25 years of age and under with a scholarship of $ 300.00 each. These funds will be paid out for a dressage clinic of your choice. This is not for any regular lessons that you take; we want to provide a higher level training opportunity to the successful applicants.

Regular lesson are critical to everyone’s development as a rider; we want to provide the two candidates with a special learning opportunity. There are a number of excellent coaches who come to the Brandon area; we want you to have the opportunity to take advantage of those lessons.

This scholarship will be reviewed annually; however for 2019, we have two $300.00 dressage scholarships for those 25 years of age and under. What do you need to do to receive one of these scholarships?

We would like you to write a one page report about you and your horse, including the following information:

  • What are your goals for you and your horse?
  • Who do you train with now?
  • What is special about your horse; what makes him/her a good partner for you?
  • Tell us why this scholarship would help you achieve your riding goals.

Deadline: May 31, 2019
